1847. Hand-colored lithograph, 20″ x 27″. Framed in No. 138.4—4″ in walnut (Nut Brown stain) with double slip (one black, one white gold).
What a privilege to frame this beautiful work by the great John James Audubon (1785 – 1851). Our aim was simple and subtle refinement of line and form, executed in walnut to be in sympathy, both in color and spirit, with this natural subject matter. The double slip is unusual for us, but I went with the customer’s desire to enhance the refinement and definition of line, and to project the significance of the piece.
