Cassettas and Compound Auroras

Cass+C-1100-CV-pts-cnrs-web1200Like our Compound Mitered Frames, these designs combine two or more moldings, but in this case we use mortise-and-tenon or lap joined elements.

Cassettas. A style dating from the early Renaissance, cassetta frames consist of a broad flat—ours are lap-joined or mortise-and-tenon—between mitered inner and outer moldings.

Compound Aurora (Mortise-and-Tenon). These are mortise-and-tenon flats combined with a mitered molding either as a cap or at the sight edge.
