J. Bond Francisco (California, 1863-1931), (artist’s studio)

n.d. Oil on canvas, 11-3/4″ x 8-3/8″. Framed in No. 16 —3″ in stained quartersawn white oak with green paint rubbed in to the grain; gilt oak liner.

The fun thing about framing this piece was having the framed painting dead center in the picture. Nothing to do but copy that frame! I love the feeling of old San Francisco, and the ingenuous approach to framing taken by so many artists of the early part of the century.
