Chris Jorgensen was one of the great early painters of Yosemite Valley, a place I love, so I relished the opportunity to not only frame one of his paintings but to put it into a far more advantageous setting. This frame takes you in to the picture with the right balance of refinement and rusticity. The framing we replaced is standard fare — the mat a needless separator, the metal leaf stock frame a feeble attempt to dress it up.
Many Jorgensen paintings are on display at the famed Ahwahnee Hotel in Yosemite Valley.
