Here’s another great painting that will be in our show “Beloved California III” opening this Saturday. This one, “Spring Melody,” 11″ x 14″, is by Marin County painter, Carol Peek. We framed it in a simple 2-3/4″ stepped profile in quartersawn white oak with Medieval Oak stain and a narrow gilt slip. The steps echo the receding series of knolls. The intermediate step in the profile is carved.

The other decorative feature is the corner detail—a proud spline to articulate the joinery. It’s something we’ve enjoyed getting in to recently on a number of frames.
