R. Caygill, (osprey)

n.d. Watercolor, 21″ x 29″. Framed in No. 348—3-1/2″ in quartersawn white oak (Weathered Oak stain).

I don’t know who R. Caygill is, but he or she is evidently filled with reverence for the wild and the rendering skills to express it. Coarse-grained quartersawn oak, beautifully figured with ray flake, shaped to suit the line and form so expertly executed here—that’s all this piece called for, that and nothing more.
