Artisan Ted Ellison to Speak Tonight on Progressive American Mosaic Fireplaces

We’re eagerly anticipating tonight’s gallery event, as we host stained glass and mosaic artist Theodore Ellison and his talk “Progressive American Mosaic Fireplaces.” The presentation will be a heartfelt appreciation, by a practitioner of the art form, of a neglected area of American decorative arts.

Theodore Ellison

Ted’s an old friend and sometime collaborator. We have a number of his works on display and for sale in the Gallery, including the iris below. Our work and Ted’s have found harmony together in who-knows-how-many American homes. I’ve heard him speak before (on early San Francisco stained glass artist Bruce Porter, who he has heavily researched), and can promise you this will be an illuminating and intriguing presentation.

The evening will include a reception for Ted as well as two other artisans whose work we are currently featuring: Dianne Ayres of Arts and Crafts Period Textiles, and furniture-maker Tedd Colt of Caledonia Studios.
